GARMA SCHOOL HALL

For: Davenport Campbell & Australian Himalayan Foundation

Role: Fundraising, Project Architect, Project Manager, tour leader and remote site manager.

The Project:  Following the successful implementation of the earthquake resistant classrooms throughout the region, it became clear a larger building was needed to house the school and local community in the event of another disaster. Partly with Davenport Campbell and then independently we designed, engineered and raised the funds to build the hall. This project was done win collaboration with TTW, David Francis and others. Fundraising for the hall was provided by various Australian construction industry businesses and individuals. It is a long and wonderful tale culminating in leading a group of volunteers through the everest region of Nepal to help finish the construction of the hall.
